Travel guide of UtahStarting our dirt road trek through Utah we came across what looked like strategically placed boulders scattered across at the feet of this mesa. Over time the weather peeled apart this Mesa releasing giant boulders running down its side. But the mind blowing aspect is how these boulders are able to stand on sediment mounds and balance as such.

I was coming back from a road trip to Las Vegas with some friends and we decided to stop at a viewing area. This is the view that we were greeted with.

Stumbled upon this abandoned scenic turnout while on my way to Arches. Castle Gate was once the first coal mine in Utah and produced high quality coal for steam trains. Dismantled in 1924, it’s now not more than a ghost town. Coincidentally, a train was on it’s way up to the northern direction.

My sister and I went backpacking in Arches National Park over the summer. In some panic ridden state, we woke up and barely caught the sunrise.

The higher elevations of the backcountry in Utah has maple trees and aspen trees. I was able to capture the colors at the peak time, simply beautiful.

The Corona Arch is just outside of Arches National Park in Utah and is a pretty easy hike back to see it and the Bow Tie Arch. The whole area is pretty amazing.

It had been a busy wildfire season and recent burns created a stunning view of mountain layers at the summit of the Pfeifferhorn. The hike includes scrambling the ridge seen in the lower right to gain the summit.

I am not a photographer, but I had to take this picture. Although I cannot remember which ski resort I was at when I took this, it is either Snowbird or Canyons Resort. I was in awe of the scenery when I came off the chairlift and had to take the photo.

Image of a young Utahn taking the plunge into Bloods Lake, Park City UT. The Summers here can get pretty steamy so a hike and swim in one of Utah’s many alpine lakes are on the brain.

The Green river overlook is one of the most photographed points in Canyonlands National Park. This particular evening, there were hardly 3 photographers waiting for the sun to set over the Green River as it cut through the Island in the Sky. Definitely felt a very special occasion for photography.

Each year there is a wild flower festival held at Alta Ski Area. This was an enjoyable evening walking around the upper meadows taking pictures of all sorts of different wild flowers.

I attended a wildflower festival a Alta Ski Area, above Salt Lake City. While walking down a trail back to the parking area, I saw this peaceful fellow resting amongst the wildflowers. People were respectful in keeping their distance from him, this was shot with a telephoto.

While my group and I were snowshoeing in the Utah mountains, others were cross-country skiing, like this couple. The contrast of their jackets agains the enormous and strong evergreens caught my eye. Each of these trees is carrying is hundreds of pounds of snow and it makes for a beautiful scene.

This photo was taken in the mountains of Utah over a frozen lake on a beautiful January day. The folks in the distance were snowshoeing, as were we. There were about 3-4 feet of snow on the ground that day.

Spent the whole night in absolute silence at lost lake in the Uinta mountains watching the milky way roll across the horizon. This was taken just after the sun had gone down and the sky was still slightly blue.
